“Born to Be Somebody” is the seventh track from Justin Bieber's second remix album, Never Say Never: The Remixes.
Background[]
Diane Warren wasn’t in the studio with Justin. She ran into the head of music at Paramount and Justin’s manager, Scooter Braun, at a restaurant, and they were talking about the movie Never Say Never. Scooter was saying, “I need a ‘Man in the Mirror.’ I need a great, inspiring song.”[2]
Diane Warren revealed the new song, called “Born to Be Somebody at the Fox Golden Globes after-party.[3]

Lyrics[]
[Verse 1]
There’s a dream in my soul
A fire that’s deep inside me
There’s a me no one knows
Waiting to be set free
[Pre-Chorus]
I’m gonna see that day
I can feel it, I can taste it
Change is coming my way
[Chorus]
I was born to be somebody
Ain’t nothing that’s ever gonna stop me
I’ll light up the sky like lightning
I’m gonna rise above, show ‘em what I’m made of
I was born to be somebody, I was born to be
And this world will belong to me
[Verse 2]
This life can kick you around, woah
This world can make you feel small, whoa
They will not keep me down, whoa
I was born to stand tall
[Pre-Chorus]
I’m going all the way
I can feel it, I believe it
I’m here, I’m here to stay
[Chorus]
I was born to be somebody
Ain’t nothing that’s ever gonna stop me
I’ll light up the sky like lighting
I’m gonna rise above, show ‘em what I’m made of
I was born to be somebody, I was born to be
And this world will belong to me
[Bridge]
Can yeel it, believe it
Dream it, be it
[Chorus]
I was born to be somebody (Born to be, yeah)
Ain’t nothing that’s ever gonna stop me (No no, whoa, yeah)
I’ll light up the sky like lighting
I’m gonna rise above, show ‘em what I’m made of
I was born to be somebody, I was born to be
And this world will belong to me
[Outro]
Oh oh, oh oh
And this world will belong to me
Yeah, yeah, oh
This world will belong to me
