Carly Rae Jepsen (born November 21, 1985) is a Canadian recording artist and singer-songwriter from Mission, British Columbia. Carly is best known for her hit single, Call Me Maybe.
Relationships[]
Justin Bieber came home [to Canada] for Christmas, heard Call Me Maybe on the radio and he liked it. He was playing it for his girlfriend and friends and tweeted about it innocently. Then Scooter, Justin's manager, caught wind and wanted to investigate, to see if Carly was signed already. They approached 604 Records and Carly, about wanting to spread the music. Carly then signed to Schoolboy Records, the record that Justin has signed to as well.
Later on, with Interscope and 604 Records, Schoolboy released Carly's debut album, Kiss, which Justin had executive-produced. Justin & Carly sang a duet on the album, titled "Beautiful".
Carly Rae Jepsen said Justin would be a great American Idol Judge. “Justin would be awesome,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “He’s got lots of great opinions when it comes to the music world and he’s very experienced especially for being so young.”[1]
Justin appears in the music video I Really Like You.
