In the second episode of the YouTube documentary, Justin Bieber: Seasons, he said "We gotta recut Double Negative 'cause that's an old, old vocal."
In March 2020, a snippet appeared on YouTube which originated from French Montana's Instagram story. The snippet featured Chris Brown's vocals on the original 2014 track. A month later producer Mark The Mogul hinted the song indeed featured the artist.[1]
On November 1, 2023, the full song was leaked and quickly went viral on TikTok. This may have been the reason the song made it onto the tracklist of Chris Brown's studio album 11:11, which was announced a couple of days days later. In the end, according to Chris Brown on Instagram, the song was scrapped from the album as it did not make the deadline in time with the lawyers.[2]

This is the original 2014 version of the song before it was recut for Changes.
Background[]
On November 30, 2015, a snippet of the song, at the time unknown to others, was posted to a fan's Tumblr. It was unknown at the time if it was really Justin Bieber's song or not.[3]
Two years later, producer Soundz accidentally played the song during an Instagram Live. He then announced he would get in trouble for playing it. Almost two weeks later he played a snippet again. In early 2019, several snippets both in low and high quality were leaked online, before the full The song leaked on the LEAKTHIS forum on April 22, 2019.[4]
