Caplin decided to create a prototype book, enlisting the help of designer Laia Prats - his girlfriend at the time. For a few months Caplin pitched the documentary idea to Bieber's management and several publishing houses, but received no response. He finally got his big break in June when Bieber performed on the "Today Show;" Caplin gave the prototype books to Bieber and his manager, who were impressed.[1] [2]
The cover was revealed on People on August 9, 2010.[3]
