“Honest” is a song by Justin Bieber featuring Don Toliver. Both artists have collaborated before in 2021 on the single "Don't Go" with Skrillex.

Background[]

The song started off with a sample that producer Sonni made in 2020. Later on he got connected with Jeremy, his manager, who also manages Justin's previous collaborator, BEAM, who had previously worked with him and Don together before and both artists individually. Jeremy sent the beat out to BEAM and Azul Wynter, who received it in April 2021. Sonni was inspired by the music of Don and his label boss and previous collaborator, Travis Scott, who Justin has also collaborated with before.[1] The song was first announced in the description of the music video of Justin's comedy single to promote this song, “I Feel Funny”.
