JB x CS is the given name for the unreleased acoustic album by Cody Simpson & Justin Bieber recorded in 2014.
Recording began as early as June 10, 2014, On September 15, 2014 Justin Bieber & Cody Simpson had a promotional photoshoot photographed by Nick Onken in Malibu, California. On November 11, 2014 The two musicians released their duet "Home to Mama" on the Fahlo app. The song was suppose to be the lead single to what would eventually be a collaboration album between the 2, However plans changed in January 2015 when they decided that they were not going release the album.[1]
In 2016, Cody mentioned in an interview that once he got back to L.A, he was going to finish the album he and Justin were working on in 2014.
Background[]
“We’ve been doing a bunch of acoustic material,” Simpson explains. “He called me up a couple of months back, and said, ‘Mate, I see you’ve been getting really good at guitar!’ So we got together that night, actually in L.A., and wrote some great riffs, and ended up writing a really amazing song together.
“Then I had to go over to Europe, but we got back together when I got back and wrote 12 songs in seven days. We stayed up all night, every night, slept in the day, working until 6 a.m., and we literally wrote an entire project together. You’ll be hearing some music from it soon. He’s been a good mate of mine, helping me get my music out there and exposed, and this album will really help me with showcasing my guitar, songwriting and vocal skills.”[2]
“The stuff I have with Justin is all very much based around romance and women,” Cody reveals. “We were both in a place where we both had broken up with our girls, and we wanted to get all of that out.” Those tracks will be released eventually, but there’s no concrete date at this point. “We promised fans an album in November, but there’s so much going on that we have to push it to next year,” he laments. “But they will be hearing more, that’s a guarantee. And it won’t take too long.”[3]
