Joshua: "Yeah, the vision of Tricky, and Dream and LA Reid and Usher was that they wanted Bieber to straddle the line between American hip‑hop and pop. They did not want him to be a pop artist, they wanted him to be the cool white kid. I think the reason they came to me was that I'm very aggressive in my approach to mixing these kinds of tracks. I like to hit them really hard, so that you can really feel the drums, while everything else sounds expensive, so that it turns into a great hybrid.”[1]
