Template:Infobox singleNot to be confused with Where Are You Now?.

Where Are Ü Now” is a song by Skrillex & Diplo which features vocals from Justin Bieber. The song was released on February 27, 2015 on digital music stores as well as on SoundCloud.

Interestingly, Justin has his own song called “Where Are You Now” which was featured on his debut studio album, My World 2.0 back in 2010 as a bonus on editions sold at Walmart and in Australia. This is NOT remix of that track, but an entirely new song with different lyrics and music. Diplo and Skrillex have created an uptempo beat that features Justin singing softly, essentially combining EDM with a breakup ballad.

Background

On Aug. 12, 2014, at 3:55 AM, Poo Bear jotted down four words: “Where are you now.”. He had the idea from the show on VH1, 'Where are they now?'.[1][2]

Justin Bieber recorded the track as a stripped piano ballad produced by Poo Bear. At a party, Scooter Braun decided to send the track to Diplo, so he and Skrillex, also known as Jack Ü, could rework it into the track featured on both albums. The original track, The Most, was put on Purpose as a special bonus track on the Japanese and Walmart edition. Poo Bear played the original on an online radio a few months after its release.

Music video

The Where ARE Ü Now Video Project

From May 29–31, 2015, there was an event held at a special Jack Ü location for fans to customize the photo-shoots for the "Where Are Ü Now" music video with crayons and colored pastels. Two teasers for the video were released on June 26, a week before the full release on June 29, 2015.

The video begins with a white Jack Ü logo on a black background. The video then switches to Justin Bieber standing and swaying in front of a white background and it rapidly shows random art while Bieber is doing this.

The music video received four nominations at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, winning the Best Visual Effects category.

Lyrics

I need you (the), I need you
I need you (the), I need you
I need Ü Ü Ü Ü Ü Ü
I need you (the), I need you
I need you (the), I need you
I need Ü Ü Ü Ü Ü Ü Ü Ü Ü Ü
I need you the most

I gave you the key when the door wasn't open, just admit it
See, I gave you faith, turned your doubt into hoping, can't deny it
Now I'm all alone and my joys turned to moping
Tell me, where are you now that I need you?
Where are you now, where are you now?
Where are you now that I need ya?
Couldn't find you anywhere
When you broke down I didn't leave ya
I was by your side
So where are you now that I need ya?
Where are you now that I need ya?

Where are you now that I need ya?
Where are you now that I need ya?
Where are you now that I need ya?

I gave you attention when nobody else was paying
I gave you the shirt off my back, what you saying?
To keep you warm
I showed you the game everybody else was playing, that's for sure (that's for sure)
And I was on my knees when nobody else was praying, oh Lord

Where are you now that I need ya?
Where are you now that I need ya?

I need you (the), I need you
I need you (the), I need you
I need Ü Ü Ü Ü Ü Ü
Where are you now that I need ya?
I need you (the), I need you
I need Ü Ü Ü Ü Ü Ü
I need you the most

Where are you now that I need ya?
Where are you now that I need ya?
Where are you now that I need ya?
I need you the most
I need you the most
I need you the most
