The World Music Awards were an international award show. Awarded best-selling artists in a number of categories and to the best-selling artists from each major territory. Created in 1989.
From 1989 to 2008 the awards were held. In 2009 there was no ceremony. They returned in 2010. But until 2012, in that year the ceremony was suspended and all nominations were moved to the 2014 ceremony. Which was the last year that the awards were held.
Many of the categories were fan votes on the world music awards website.
